Im Projekt WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO inszeniert eine Gruppe von Darsteller*innen in der Nordbahn-Halle tableau-artige Situationen und performative Bildmomente. Diese orientieren sich an abstrahierten medialen Bildern von ideologischen Momenten wie etwa Demonstrationen und Manifestationen. Mittels graphischer Sprachelemente und minimalistischer performativer Handlungen lassen die Performer*innen choreografierte poetische Bilder entstehen.
WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO untersucht Subjektkonstruktionen innerhalb unserer europäischen Gesellschaft, Augenblicke vermeintlicher Gemeinsamkeit und die Isolation jedes einzelnen Menschen. Im Mittelpunkt des Projekts stehen die Sichtbarmachung von Machtstrukturen, Anschauungen und Wertsysteme innerhalb unserer Sprache und in Gruppenhierarchien. Außerdem werden die symbolische Aneignung von Raum und soziale Kontrolle thematisiert. Mit Tafeln und Schildern ausgestattet formieren sich die Performer*innen immer wieder neu zu einer Gruppe „stiller Sprechender“, die die Betrachter*innen auffordern, ihre eigene Stimme zu hören und zu Leser*innen zu werden.

The performance WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO stages tableau-like situations and performative visual moments embodied through a group of performers in the space of the Nordbahn-Halle. These sequences and pictures are based primarily on media images of protests and demonstrations. By using graphic text fragments and minimalist performative actions, these ideological moments are transferred into choreographed poetic scenes by performers moving, standing or lying within the space.
WE WILL NOT LET YOU GO explores the subject constructions within our European society and depicts both moments of perceived commonality and the isolation of the individual. The focal questions of the project are the visualisation of intra-lingual and group hierarchical power structures, dynamics and modes of expression as well as symbolic appropriation of space and social control. Holding up plates and signs, the performers repeatedly form new groups of “soundless speakers”, inviting the observers to listen to their own voices and thereby become readers.
